Dear Friends of CCSA,
As we wrap up another busy season, I’ve been thinking a lot about what truly keeps this organization going. It isn’t the paperwork, the board meetings, or even the scholarships themselves — it’s you. Our donors are the quiet engine behind every student we help, and I want to take a moment to say how deeply we appreciate you.
Since our group’s inception in 1970, more than 5,300 scholarships totaling over $4,668,000 have been awarded to high school seniors in our school district community. This past year alone, 175 students received scholarships through the Chico Community Scholarship Association, totaling more than $351,000. Those numbers represent real lives changed — and that impact belongs to you.
When a student receives a scholarship, it’s not just a check. It’s relief. It’s possibility. It’s someone finally exhaling because a door they weren’t sure would open suddenly does. Your generosity tells the young people of our community that we believe in them and that their goals matter.
I’m incredibly proud to work alongside the dedicated volunteers on the CCSA Board. They give countless hours to ensure every part of our organization runs smoothly and with care. Their commitment, paired with your generosity, is what makes our mission possible.
Our Board has been hard at work this summer planning our annual fundraiser mixer. This year’s event will be held at Canyon Oaks Country Club on Thursday, October 8th from 5–7:30pm. We’ll have delicious nibbles, raffle prizes, a no host bar, and entertainment featuring talented young people from our community. Our fabulous Grand prizes include a $1,000 Finds Design & Décor gift card, a Mendocino Getaway, a wine wagon, and a Beer Barrel. The community’s support for this event is vital to our continued success, and we truly hope to see you there!
But for now, please know this: your support matters more than you may ever realize, and we are truly grateful.
